Original Summary:
Cartoon shows two U.S. soldiers in uniform with helmets and rifles, apparently on patrol in Vietnam. They are wading in water up to their stomachs in a rural setting. The African-American soldier, at left, is speaking to the white soldier. The caption at bottom reads: "WHEN I VOLUNTEERED TO GO TO THE FRONT -- I MEANT DETROIT!" The cartoonist has signed at the lower left of the image, above the caption: "Morrie." The cartoon appeared in Ebony magazine Volume XXIII No. 10, May, 1968, page 108. The cartoon was included along with several Morrie cartoons and a photograph of the cartoonist.
