Title Work Title No: 18669 Medium: Moving Image Date: 1972 (Release) Original Summary: "We join a class of grade-school children, on the playground of their school, and listen to a police officer as he tells a series of short stories about kids and strangers. He begins by reminding the class of a recent news report on their local TV station, about a little girl who apparently forgot her parents' warnings, and went off with someone she didn't know. She was never seen again. His succeeding stories are about children like those in the class, and they are re-enacted in locations that every boy and girl is familiar with: the park, the movies, even the entrance to the schoolyard. One particularly vivid sequence concerns three kids who try to hitch-hike home from school. Their misadventures prove to them that asking a stranger for a ride is really asking for trouble. In every case, emphasis is upon the one primary fact that all grade-school children should always keep in mind: STRANGERS CAN BE DANGEROUS." - Summary from the teacher's guide.
