Box 1 - Contains various materials belonging to Henry Hampton. Includes the 1957 yearbook from St. Louis University High School, which was Henry Hampton's senior year ; various photocopies of published articles about the history of black doctors and black health care in St. Louis ; University of Pennsylvania Law Review, January 1992  written by Leon Higgenbotham and signed by the author to Henry Hampton.  Also includes Henry Hampton's daily planners from 1986, 1990 and 1991; two Blackside logos on oversized black boards ; material gathered for a Blackside newsletter ; notebook from 1970 containing handwritten personal financial information.Of special interest is a handwritten letter to Hampton from Maya Angelou (1990) and a framed "While You Were Out" notice concerning the National Endowment for the Humanities funding Blackside.

Box 2 - Contains Henry Hampton's personal notebooks and daily planners from the late 1980s through the 1990s. Includes Hampton's diary/journal from November 1991 to June 1993 ; Hampton's daily planners from 1987, 1988 and 1993 through 1998 ; a notebook from a 1991 producers meeting on the Great Depression. Of special interest is a notebook containing an outline for a possible Henry Hampton autobiography and a few notes on what it might include.

Box 3 - Contains university-related materials and miscellaneous publicatons. Includes a 1997 placque awarded to Henry Hampton's father by the Washington University Medical School ; the commencement program from Hampton's Washington University graduation in 1961 ; Hampton's honorary degree from Teikyo Post University (1992) ; Bridgewater State College commencement program from 1989 when Hampton received an honorary degree. Of special interest is the entire newspaper of the St. Louis Globe Democrat (3/16/65) which Hampton kept for reasons not immediately apparent.

Box 4 - Contains random materials found among Henry Hampton's personal papers. Includes Blackside logos on boards ;  issues 7 and 11 of Black Chronicle ; teacher's guides for issues 1, 7 and 11 of Black Chronicle ; record album to accompany Black Chronicle ; transparency of illustration of farm workers.
