Photos show scenes dealing with the delivery of U.S. Mail from the early 1900s to the 1950s, using various modes of delivery: fleets of automobiles, snow mobile, bicycle, airplane, helicopter, train, depot hacks, and horse-drawn wagons. Includes portraits of postal workers in action (sorting or delivering mail), a child checking the mail box on a farm, a "nest" of mailboxes in a rural (possibly suburban) area. Of particular interest is Postmaster Austin Jackson with "Pilot Huking" in Reno, Nevada, preparing mail for delivery to San Francisco (dated 7/2/1924).
