Title Work Title No: 234 Medium: Audio; Moving Image Date: 12 Nov 1985 (Created) Original Summary: Filmed interview with Curtis Jones conducted for Eyes on the Prize. Discussion centers on the murder of Jones' cousin Emmett Till. In the interview, Jones claimed that Emmett Till boasted about having white girlfriends in Chicago and that the other children in the group dared him to go into the Bryant store and talk to Carolyn Bryant. However, evidence later surfaced that Jones was not in Mississippi at the time of the incident. According to filmmaker Keith Beauchamp (producer of the film The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till), Jones's story about the events at the story is untrue. In 2005, Beauchamp said that Jones ultimately admitted that he was not at the Bryant store that day and apologized for repeating a second-hand story as if he were an eyewitness.
