Photocopies of articles from issues of Jet magazine, v. 8-9 (various numbers, from May 1955 to Apr. 1956) and the New York Times newspaper (Wed., August 17; Wed., August 24, and Fri., Aug 26, 1955) - with photocopy of 1955 NYT index.  Articles deal with segregation, voting practices, elected officials supported by African American votes, corrupt vote tallying operations (e.g. refusing to count ballots of all-black communities), vote drives, boycotts, etc. Copies accompanied by handwritten notes citing specific articles of interest.
