BOX 1: Materials related to pre-production and production of Malcolm X: Make it Plain.  Includes information about research, budget, possible and definite interviewees, music, correspondence, contracts and newspaper clippings about Spike Lee's film "Malcolm X" that was released in 1992.  Also includes galley for "The Eyes on the Prize: Civil Rights Reader."  Some material is annotated.

BOX 2: Materials related to production and post-production of Malcolm X: Make it Plain.  Inlcudes various drafts of scripts, notes and related material from assembly screening, rough cut screening and fine cut screenings.  Also includes promotional material for both the production and accompanying book.  Ratings information and press clippings are also included.  Some material is annotated.

BOX 3:  Includes certificate of appreciation to Judy Richardson for her work on Eyes on the Prize II.  Also includes two teleplay drafts for "Selma, Lord Selma," and a treament for "Songs of My People," a project on the importance of music during the Civil Rights Era that Blackside partnered with HBO to produce.  Also includes Blackside newsletters for 1991-1992, including one for Educators Workshop.  Material related to release of home videos for Eyes on the Prize and Eyes on the Prize II from PBS Video, and correspondence is also included.  Additionally, includes readings and related material from course entitled "Teaching the History of the Southern Civil Rights Movement, 1865-1965," believed to have been taught in summer of 1990.  Finally, includes "Teaching Eyes on the Prize: Teaching Democracy" article by Judy Richardson which appeared in the October 1992 journal of Social Education.  Some material is annotated.

BOX 4: Materials related to pre-production, production and post-production of The Great Depression, America's War on Poverty, and BreakThrough.  Includes a proposal for The Great Depression School, readings for The Great Depression School held prior to beginning the production, and scripts for episodes "New Deal/New York" and "To Be Somebody."  Promotional material, reviews and final production report for The Great Depression is included.   Also includes a proposal for a children's series, "AdventureClub," that Blackside worked on in 1995.  Material related to Amercia's War on Poverty includes research summary, production report, final lock script for "My Brother's Keeper" episode, discussion guide for the series and a Blackside newsletter dedicated to the production.  BreakThrough related material includes production report and the series Educational Guide.  Box also includes material unrelated to Blackside productions, largely resource guides to materials in collections throughout the United States.  Some material is annotated.
