Materials were orginally in binders "Episode 1 Animation" and "Episode 2 Animation."   However, they were not in this order.  Materials were stored  in non-archival plastic sleeves with their corresponding photographs.  The photographs and reference sheets were removed.

Photos must stay in their designated folders. Folders 1-9 are arranged chronologically by war and contain mostly images that are group and individual portraits of subjects unidentified by name. Folders 10-17 are also arranged chronologically by war and contain multiple images of journalists/correspondents identified by name. All photos have an Insignia Films numbers which correspond with stills reference sheets. 

Insignia Films assigned numbers (ISF#) written on reverse sides of images. Some had numbers written in red grease pencil when received, and if no numbers had originally been written, they were added internally with a special blue pencil. Images were originally accompanied by source reference sheets on 8.5x11 paper; most, but not all, included a reduced image with source information.

Images ISF#: 0329, ISF#:0333, IFS#: 0483, ISF#: 0485, ISF#: 0486, ISF#: 0487, ISF#: 0492, ISF#: 0513, and ISF#: 0652 have paper reference sheets with source information; however, the inkjet prints were not among those of this collection.

Images ISF# 0003, ISF#: 0062, ISF#: 0119, ISF#: 0317, ISF#: 0318, ISF#: 0348, ISF#: 0367, ISF#: 0404, ISF#: 0466, ISF#: 0632, ISF#: 0642, ISF#: 0665, ISF#: 0669, ISF#: 0674, ISF#: 0679, ISF#: 0684, ISF#: 0738, ISF#: 0751, ISF#: 0758, ISF#: 0961, ISF#: 0962, ISF#: 1273, ISF#: 1385, ISF#: 1496, ISF#: 1497, ISF#: 1501, ISF#: 1502, ISF#: 1507, and ISF#: 1511 do exist in addition to their stills reference sheets; however, these images are either plates extracted from books and journals, or photographic copies (i.e. no inkjet prints accompanied these numbered reference sheets).
