Carrier is made of bronze-colored metal, is round, and measures  2 1/2" X 2 1/2." 
Front of medallion has an engraving of a profile of George Foster Peabody. Peabody's name appears around the bottom in capital letters. On the top of the front side are the words "THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA."
Reverse has at center an engraving of arch supported by three pillars. A banner reading "WISDOM" "JUSTICE" AND "MODERATION" is draped through the pillars. The top of the arch reads "CONSTITUTION." At the base of the arch is the date "1987." Forming an arch over the structure are the words "ET DOCERE ET RERVM EXQVIRERE CAVSAS." Over that set of arched words is another: "AWARDED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA." At the bottom, in an inverted arch, are the words "EYES ON THE PRIZE."
