IT WAS A NICE NEIGHBOURHOOD. EVERYBODY KNEW EACH OTHER. SCHOOLS WERE CLOSE & PEOPLE FELT A COMMITTMENT TO THEIR NEIGHBOURHOOD
Description : ROSEMARY PORTER INTERVIEW. AFTER JUST HAVING LEFT A NEIGHBOURHOOD THAT HAD GONE THROUGH RACIAL CHANGE, CIVIL RIGHTS DEMONSTRATORS WERE MARCHING DOWN THE STREET, 3 HOUSES FROM WHERE I WAS MOVING IN. I WAS REALLY UPSET, I THOUGHT OH NO ,NOT AGAIN. FOR WHATEVER THAT MIGHT MEAN.
